STEM in Scouting

STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) is part of an initiative the Boy Scouts of America has taken on to encourage the natural curiosity of youth members and their sense of wonder for these fields through existing Scouting programs. From archery to welding, Scouts can't help but enjoy a wide range of STEM-related activities in Scouting.

Nova and Supernova Awards

Engage Scouts in STEM by pursuing the Nova and Supernova Awards programs! The Nova and Supernova Awards programs incorporate learning with exciting activities that expose Scouts of all ages to STEM. All requirements may be found in the Nova awards guidebooks available in the council Scout Shop. The requirements can be completed with a parent or an adult leader as the counselor (for the Nova awards) or mentor (for the Supernova awards).
