Muncie Scout Service Center relocates
Muncie, Ind., Dec. 9, 2008- Beginning Dec. 10, Boy Scouts in the Muncie area will have a new home.
Crossroads of America Council’s Muncie Service Center officially opens Wednesday, Dec. 10. The new center is located at 3400 E. Jackson St. and houses both professional offices and a Scout Shop.
The center is a permanent home made possible by leadership from Mike Ellis and generous financial support by Dr. John Eliades and many other Scouts and Scout leaders. Unlike the previous property, which was rented, this center boasts ample parking, more storage space and conference rooms for on-site meetings. An official dedication ceremony will take place in 2009.
“We are very thankful for the leadership of Mike Ellis and Dr. John Eliades for making this center a reality,” said Crossroads of America Council Scout Executive Scott Clabaugh. “This new center will help facilitate the growth of Scouting in the Muncie area so we can continue to beneficially involve every eligible youth in the fun, adventure and values of the Scouting program.”
